The Research Centre is located at No. 9 Quality Row, Kingston. It was originally built in 1839 as the home for the Royal Engineer and has been fully renovated.
You can explore the house and general history resources as psrt of your Museum Muilti Pass. Additional fees and services enable you to undergo assisted research during your visit, or you can opt for an extended research enquiry with the help of Research Centre staff.
Available resources include:

A microfilm collection of original records dating back to 1788;

Historic maps;

A fascinating reference collection in our reading room;

Digitised and hard copy folders for individuals, convicts, civil and military personnel from each of the settlement periods;

Databases and selected online sites; and

Comprehensive genealogies.

Open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 11:00am to 3:00pm.
Open Wednesday 9.00am - 5.00pm
Entry fee into the house is included with the Museums Multi Pass.
Assisted research is $15.00 per topic / per hour of research with a charge of $20.00 per topic / extra hour thereafter.
Alternatively, an extended research request can be taken for $50.00 per topic / per two hours of research with a charge of $20.00 per topic / per extra hour thereafter.
Please note that photocopying and printing charges also apply at $1.00 per A4 copy (black and white).
